Sustainability

To create our bikinis, swimsuits and leggings we use a fabric, that is made of 78% recycled polyamide. During the manufacturing process special elastane fibers are woven though and increase the stretchability of the textiles. Our Sweaters and Ponchos are made of 100% GOTS-certified organic Cotton. The tie-dye look is printed in a digital printing process.

It is important to us as an employer, that every person helping to create our products, receives a proper salary and works under fair conditions. We support flexible working hours for care workers and team members which are still studying. Also we encourage our employees to develop their strengths and potentials.

We pay attention to lower the pollution of our planet: Starting with the fabrics we use, to the packaging material in which our products are being shipped, up to proper waste separation in our office. As a company we have the vision to cultivate a less destructive behavior towards the human as well as non human nature.

Our products are designed in Germany and manufactured in Portugal by our trusted partners.

The recycled polyamide fabrics are made of different kinds of waste, which gets collected, cleaned and spun in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In Italy the plain colored lining is being dyed, whereas the patterns of outer fabric gets printed in the South of Germany.

Orders placed after 12am on Friday will be collected over the weekend and processed on Monday.

Unfortunately and for various reasons, it happens that the mailperson fails to deliver a package. If so, don’t hesitate contact our customer service at info@joseasurfwear.com. We identify potentials sources of error and resend your package.

Orders outside of the EU

If you order from a place, that is not inside the European Union, please prepare that you will pay extra import tax/VAT and customs duty. Especially for customers from the UK and Switzerland. The standard VAT-Rate is around 20% of the value of the goods. 

We ship all packages within Germany using DHL Go Green. For small packages sent internationally, we use DHL Warenpost Premium International Go Green and for the bigger ones DHL International Go Green. Outside of Germany, DHL collaborates with local shipping partners for delivery.

If you order until 12 am and everything is correct (address, availability), the order will be packed and dispatched on the same day. Orders placed after 12 am on Friday will be collected over the weekend and processed on Monday. From then on, the dispatch times are usually as follows: (information without guarantee)

Germany: 2-4 working days
Austria, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland: 4-6 working days
Denmark, France, Poland, Great Britain, Irland, Portugal: 4-6 working days
Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Canada: 5-7 working days
Greece: 7-8 working days
USA: 10 working days
Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, China: 10-18 working days

Returns & Refund

If you wish to return an item, please register your return through our returns portal. After registration, you will receive a shipping label.
We charge a return fee of €10 for each return, which will be deducted from your refund. Please include a short note with your order number in the return package – this helps our returns team process your return more efficiently.

We aim to operate more sustainably and maintain fair prices for all our customers.
The €10 return fee helps us cover the actual costs of shipping, handling, cleaning, and processing returns – especially as a small, independent label that produces fairly in Europe.

Many returned items must be inspected, carefully prepared, and sometimes cleaned before they can be resold. This extra work generates costs that we prefer not to pass on to all customers, but only apply when a return is made.

We also hope the return fee encourages more mindful shopping decisions and helps reduce unnecessary returns and the associated environmental impact.

Please use our return portal to process the return and then send the item back.

As soon as we’ve checked your return and confirmed that everything is in perfect condition, we’ll issue a refund using the same payment method you chose at checkout.
Please note that this process may take between 7 and 30 days – thank you in advance for your patience!

Reclamation

We take a lot of care producing our pieces and always double check before we send them. Nevertheless, it is possible that something escapes our notion.
So if you want to complain about a manufacturing error, please sent an E-Mail to our customer service: info@joseasurfwear.com. You will be asked to take a photo and write a short explanation what went wrong. After that you will get a shipping Label and we will exchange the item.

Custom-made products

All models are restricted to the colors and sizes listed on our website.
As we work with a small production team, we don’t offer special sizes. In case your size is out of stock, you can leave your email address.
